This is such a fascinating insight into AlphaFold where they pitted an AI against a world champion GO player. The reason that it was watched by millions of people is that it was thought to be too hard for a Machine Learning Algorithm to tackle such a complex and open game. Yet.. well I highly recommend that you watch this video even if you have little interest in anything to do with AI or coding.
Another video from DeepMind which follows on from the AlphaGo film where they applied what they learned from playing GO to a real world problem of Protein Folding. This is very serious stuff and has huge implications for science.
